MATILDA & COMPANY'S SPRING COLLECTION IS SUGAR, SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE

Children's Clothing Line Includes Soft Florals, Delicate Embroidery and Easy Breezy Silhouettes for Spring

LOS ANGELES (Fall 2007) - Spring is in the air at Matilda & Company with the unveiling of its new spring 2008 line. Consisting of dresses, onesies, rompers and more in bright vibrant patchwork, muted floral prints and pastel vintage embroideries, there is truly something for every child in this exceptional collection.

Gorgeous fabrics and silhouettes from the past are updated for today with Matilda & Company's one-of-a-kind handmade line of infant and children's clothing and accessories. Each piece is carefully crafted from vintage and reproduction fabrics mixed with luxurious silks, linens and cottons. Items in the Matilda & Company line double as precious heirlooms that are sweet and nostalgic yet practical and contemporary all while being age-appropriate.

Looks in the spring 2008 collection include colorful bubble rompers with bold patchwork halter tops and sweet white embroidered cotton onesies complete with ruffles on the rear. Additional items include charming white embroidered capri sets with ruffled trim to celebrate infancy, as well as a re-interpretation of classic silhouettes: a ballet neck dot print dress with black ribbon trim and a bubble romper top with black pantaloons. Favorites from past collections such as the embroidered sundress, linen hankie dress, baby bubbles and a-line print dress have been reworked in new colors and vintage fabrics for a fresh look. The linen hankie dress has also inspired a wonderful linen hankie romper with gingham bloomers and a beautiful, long tunic-ruffled top and shorts set.

Matilda & Company is the creation of designer Paula Corley, Otis College of Art and Design's Class of 1990's "Designer of the Year," who got her start working for Bob Mackie. After five years of overseeing his couture line and licensed products, Paula retired from the fashion business to become a stay-at-home mother to her first daughter, Matilda. It was then that ideas started forming - from bibs that wouldn't be an eyesore in first birthday photos to dresses that were comfortable yet pretty and could go from the playground to the washing machine. Paula began turning vintage linens into drool bibs, and shortly after, Matilda & Company was born. The line continued to grow following the birth of Paula's second daughter, Penelope, and party dresses, bias silks and chiffons were soon incorporated.

"Fall may be just around the corner, but we are thinking spring at Matilda & Company," says Paula. "The new collection is a wonderful mix of bright colors, lovely prints and exciting new silhouettes, and we can't wait to share it with the world."

Matilda & Company's spring 2008 collection will be on display at ENK from October 14-16 in New York City. Matilda & Company clothing is available for both boys and girls from infancy through size 11/12 and is made in the U.S.A. The line can be found in over 200 high-end boutiques throughout the United States and online at www.matildaandcompany.com
